Peat Free Compost

What is Peat Free Compost

Peat free compost is made from recycled garden waste such as leaves, grass cuttings and brash. No additives are added to the totally natural and organic ingredients. The whole composting process is totally natural, during the process the composting material reaches a staggering 70 degrees centigrade, this heat is generated by the release of energy from the rotting material and the organisms which assist the breakdown of the material. This heat ensures that no pathogens or weed seed survive the process, therefore leaving a sanitised, weed free product which will not bring diseases or unwanted seeds to your garden.

When the compost has finished breaking down it is screened to remove any oversize material which has not been fully broken down by the initial process and also to remove any lumps etc. The end product is an organic matter rich black compost which is full of good natural fertilisers. Before the compost can be sold it first has to pass astringent analysis to determine its chemical and biological content, once approved the compost is bagged and sold to gardeners, garden centres and farmers alike.
